Born: November 3, 1820 at Borgnæs, Tranderup Parish, Ærø, Denmark. Parents: Erik Clausen and Karen Pedersdatter. Died: February 20, 1892 at Poulsbo, Washington (at the home of his son.) Buried: Oakwood Cemetery in Austin, Minnesota. Married: Martha Rasmussen in 1843. She died in 1846. Married to Bergette Brekke in 1847. She died in 1887 and is buried next to him in Austin. Ordained: October 18, 1843 by Rev. L. F. E. Krause, never having received any formal theological education. Came to America in 1842. |
